Our NJ client, a soft goods supplier company, is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join their team in Clifton, NJ. The Customer Service Representative will manage second tier accounts and their responsibilities include EDI and data entry processing, order maintenance, updating customer databases, following up on orders with customers, and more.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $40-50k (Direct Hire)

Position Overview: The ideal candidate will have at least two to three years of experience in a customer service position, ideally within the soft goods lines of business, be highly organized with strong attention to detail, have the ability to multi-task with ease and professionalism, and be proficient in Microsoft Suite, SAP and EDI.

Responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative:

EDI and data entry processing

Order maintenance

Maintain and update customer databases

Follow up on orders with customers or sales

Manage and work with internal departments to resolve customer service issues, including mis-shipments, quality control issues, stock shortages, late product for accounts/ customers

Allocate inventory across orders, send pick tickets to the warehouse, and reinforce compliance requirements

Keep accurate records of all customer interactions and transactions by recording details of inquiries and actions taken

Answer emails, phone, and other miscellaneous items that come up that require attention

Qualifications for the Customer Service Representative:

SAP and EDI experience is a MUST

Positive and pleasant manner to support working with our customers, department staff, other teams and sales personnel

A strong sense of responsibility to follow through to fully complete tasks and go beyond to satisfy our customers ensuring that orders are managed to ship as expected

Detail-oriented and highly organized

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Suite of programs (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism

Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

Education Requirements:

Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience and knowledge of field
