Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Director of Finance, Managed Hotels to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in Parsippany, New Jersey.Job Summary Responsible to ensure the timely and accurate execution of the month-end close, reporting and reconciliation cycle, the identification and implementation of necessary controls whereby ensuring the financial statements are reported in conformity with GAAP. Coordinates/oversees the general accounting function of the hotel sites/corporate locations while providing useful information to the Company's decision makers.Oversees the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and/or quarterly and annual financial statements ensuring the company's external financial statements are in compliance with SEC and GAAP requirements. Acts as one of the primary contacts for the Corporate Internal Reporting Group, Corporate Tax Group, and the external audit team, and will be responsible for coordinating with other groups within the Accounting Department and WHR.Rsponsibiltiies:
Maintains the overall accounting infrastructure of the company and its affiliated entities in order to meet the requirements of all relevant users including investors, lenders, federal and state tax authorities and company management.
Evaluates and analyzes emerging accounting and reporting issues and standards that affect the company and provide guidance on implementation and implements as necessary.
Designs, implements, documents and maintains policies and procedures that support efficient and effective processes as well as maintains strong internal controls.
Directs, manages and supervises the preparation and analysis of accounts and account activity.
Directs, manages and supervises the preparation of quarterly and annual financial and tax reporting packages, as well as ad-hoc schedules and analyses as requested by the company’s executive management and WHR finance teams and/or provides accounting support to the field and finance teams.
Directs, leads, develops, supervisees, teaches and manages corporate accounting staff.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CPA preferred
10+ years accounting experience
Experience with the preparation and analysis of all GAAP and SEC reporting
Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller a significant plus
Experience supervising and developing staff of 10+ people
Oracle ERP experience a plus
Experience in (1) travel and tourism, hospitality, real estate and/or lodging, and/or 2) multi-unit state hotel management or similar industries a significant plus
