job summary:

Our client, a global manufacturer of computer systems in northern NJ is looking for System Test Technicians to support the production test, failure analysis and repair activities on servers before deployment. You will be instrumental in achieving quality targets and on-time delivery of systems according to the overall production schedule. You will work with the cross-functional production and management teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.


Requirements

- Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task

- Ability to work across engineering and production teams

- Ability to communicate issues verbally and in writing to all levels of employees


Minimum Qualifications

- Associates degree in IT, or Certification from a Technical School and/or equivalent related work experience

- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certifications are a big plus but not required

- Configuration experience of Microsoft OS Windows 7/Server/Office suite and basic Linux

- 1 year PC system related hardware or networking experience is a plus but not required

responsibilities:


  • System Test

    • System setup in test
    • System updates and verification
    • Execution of system test scripts and process

  • System Failure Analysis and Repair

    • Identification of error codes
    • Troubleshooting of system errors for corrective actions
    • Execution of system hardware repairs per proper procedures

  • Issue Resolution

    • Manage/escalate issues impacting systems in test and communicate to Peer technicians, Team Lead and Supervisors




The essential functions of this role include:
  • standing for 8 hours at one time
  • working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
