Our work depends on a Communications Specialist Senior joining our team to support our customer activities in Washington, DC. This position can be worked Remote.GDIT supports a system for HHS that collects data from a variety of sources. Data is uploaded directly into the system or entered directly into custom forms. This system also includes a complete case management system. We have hundreds of forms and dozens of data interfaces. There is also a complete data analysis subsystem that is based on Tableau for producing reports and doing analysis of the data.At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Communications Specialist Senior supporting our Customer, you will perform communication-related duties. In this role, a typical day will include:Job DescriptionPerform complex tasks involving the gathering, analyzing and compiling of data and information into well-written reports, manuals, help files, and PowerPoint presentations.

Manage multiple projects and priorities, and initiate follow up to ensure timely achievement of commitments.

Serve as a liaison between the division and customers.

Support end users.

Create and implement project plans and track action items.

Collect data and comments from multiple sources and integrate it into a cohesive response.

Clearly communicate data analysis, findings, conclusions, and recommendations to a variety of audiences through static (PowerPoint presentations and briefings) or interactive presentations (Tableau), and via written reports (e.g., white papers, memoranda, information papers, emails, reports).

Create and document functional and technical requirements in collaboration with customer

Perform test scenarios for database production development

Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

Assist in creating governance processes and Standard Operating Procedures

Required Education:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor's degree in English, communications, visual media, technical writing, or related field preferred

Five years of relevant experience

Required Skills and Qualifications:Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; prooing/editing experience preferred.

Experience in graphic design, desktop publishing, technical writing, or illustration desirable.

Experience with data analysis and data visualizations a plus

Exceptional knowledge MS Office Suite particularly PowerPoint and Excel

Ability to convert technical knowledge into easily understood terms

Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

Familiarity with Agile project management principles preferred

Strong strategic communication skills to include presenting quantitative concepts in easy-to-understand formats and actively listening to identify business problems and their cause

Highly motivated and collaborative

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Additional Desired Skills:Familiarity with refugee and immigrant populations, a plus.

Proficiency with social science research, and statistics/statistical software packages.
