Information International Associates (IIA) is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer I to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations. The DevOps Engineer will provide on-site and related support services for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS) with a workforce of approximately 14,000 personnel.

Responsibilities include:
  • Work collaboratively with software developers to deploy and operate our systems.
  • Help automate and streamline operations and processes.
  • Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test and production environments.
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration, experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef, Ansible or an equivalent.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services. A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby). Knowledge and understanding of best practices and IT operations.

Education: BA/BS in Computer Science and 6 Years of Experience

Requirements:
  • Linux administration with at least 1-year experience using Red Hat Linux
  • Experience with building and installing Linux software from source.
  • Scripting and automation experience on Linux systems using bash or Python.
  • Experience with Git source code management.
  • Experience with ticketing tracking systems (JIRA/Remedy/etc) from taking tickets, working them, following up with customers and resolving/documenting the tickets
  • Time management skills and ability to management multiple priorities
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Experience in a large organization and working in a large team
  • Experience creating documentation of systems and tasks
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be Clearable and have the ability to obtain an Active Department of Energy L/Q Clearance and be able to maintain the clearance throughout the life of the contract.
