Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Manager, Software Development 1 to be part of Northrop Grumman's Learning and Communications Solutions (LCS) team. LCS is made up of a diverse talent pool of innovators, task leaders, instructional designers, software engineers, multimedia developers, user experience (UX) designers, graphic designers, 3D artists, videographers, writers, and other creative professionals who create innovative solutions for a variety of customers.
The desired individual will have experience with operational oversight, planning, and development of mobile and web applications, interactive training, and mixed reality experiences; supervision, training and mentorship of assigned personnel; research, development, and implementation of new methods to solve customer challenges; and new business development. This position is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of software engineers, web developers, 3D artists, and other project staff
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis
  • Plan, track, and update project schedules and budgets
  • Work with multiple clients, project leads, and subject matter experts to assess customer requirements
  • Interface and communicate with clients and key stakeholders to ensure milestones are achieved on schedule
  • Manage development of a range of projects, such as complex web-based applications, interactive mixed-reality games, and interactive training courseware
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities both internally and externally
Job Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in software engineering, computer science, multimedia design, web development, or other related field with 6 or more years of experience OR Master's degree with 4 years of experience OR 10 or more years of related industry experience with high school diploma and/or Associate's Degree
  • 6 or more years of experience with software development and web-based technology
  • 2 or more years of proven experience as a manager or task leader on multiple software projects
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD (Department of Defense) Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to work on-site in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 or more years of experience with industry-standard development technologies, such as C#, Java and/or Node development, Angular / React frameworks, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and game engines such as Unity or Unreal
  • 6 or more years of experience with industry-standard design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite, and Maya or 3DS Max
  • Proven experience managing all aspects of a project, including budget, timeline, scope, quality, and customer expectations
  • Knowledge and experience using Agile (Scrum and/or Kanban) methods to develop complex projects
  • Expertise in research and development of creative solutions to complex training and information technology challenges
  • Experience with training software development, including rapid development tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline
  • Experience in identifying and capturing new business opportunities both internally and externally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range: $103,300 USD - $154,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
