This position will support the National Nuclear Security Administration Defense Programs, through system engineering and integration (SE&I) expertise. The candidate will develop and execute studies to support Systems Engineering and Integration activities that cover focus areas such as systems architecture analyses; technology development planning and evaluation; acquisition programmatic and technical development effectiveness analysis; requirements development and analysis; and risk assessments. This will require the candidate to work collaboratively with program development and program execution staff to fully leverage the Aerospace Corporation's technical capabilities in relevant areas to best support the NNSA.

This a hybrid position that can be located in either Alexandria, VA or Albuquerque, NM. The expectation is that the position will require 2-3 days/week of in office work.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Apply knowledge of systems engineering processes, methods, MBSE tools, SysML and programmatic development and oversight roles to research, architect, implement, and deploy Digital Engineering solutions for use on acquisition modernization programs and Enterprise decision support processes
  • Utilize Digital Engineering tools and platforms to capture stakeholder and system requirements, facilitate discussion and understanding of digital engineering solutions, and enhance the digital engineering culture
  • Develop Systems Engineering process model and change management processes/procedures for models
  • Integrate and combine models to address unique systems engineering problem sets
  • Participate in converting from document-based to model-based architectures; participate in refactoring of existing models
  • Conduct Modeling and Simulation activities
  • Collaborate with internal technical support members and teams to develop optimized Digital Engineering solutions


What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering, science, or related field of study.
  • 8 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering elements and processes
  • Proficiency in tools/programming such as Cameo, Unified Architecture Framework, MATLAB, MathWorks Simulink, Wind River, Simics, ExtendSim, Python
  • Effective in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions 'Understanding of basic project leadership principles such as Schedule Performance Index/Cost Performance Index, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls
  • Two years or more of experience in application of system engineering, risk management, quality, and management principles to achieve program success and MBSE application/implementation in systems engineering processes
  • Demonstrated capability to perform analysis and technical product delivery, as evidenced through examples of recent integrated work products.
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Some travel is required.

  • Demonstrated leadership and teaming skills in tasks such as formulating enterprise level solutions, executing and leading studies, collaborating with diverse teams to create holistic solutions through application of MBSE tools and methods.
  • Hold a current Top Secret clearance
