DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (See complete Job description posted on our website):
Direct care staff positions are safety sensitive positions assisting and supporting adults that have intellectual, developmental, physical and/or other disabilities with all aspects of daily living including but not limited to personal care (bathing, toileting, grooming, etc.), housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, cleaning, transportation , accompanying and supervising individuals in the community, assisting with medication, companionship, monitoring for health and safety, etc.
Direct care staff are essential employees working in a long term care residence with 4 adults who have disabilities;
Responsible for data collection, progress note charting, other electronic documentation daily;
Provide a healthy and safe environment while implementing structured programming and plans including teaching daily living skills that include behavior support, communication skills, community based & social skills fostering each individual's strengths & abilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have proof of education -High School Diploma, GED, Degree, etc.
Must be 21 or older
Must have reliable vehicle and proof of insurance on that vehicle
Must have valid NM driver's license, with less than 2 moving violations & no DWI/DUI's in the last 5 years
Must be able to pass criminal background check/fingerprint investigation
Must be able to pass a drug test.
Will be required to participate in general orientation and paid state required trainings.
Must be able to operate personal and/or company vehicles used for transporting program participants
Must be able to lift 40 lbs or more
Must have the ability to assist, support, lift and transfer individuals who utilize walkers, wheelchairs and gait belts;
Must be able to wear a mask covering your nose and mouth for the duration of your scheduled shifts;
Must be able to type and utilize the world wide web
