Job Description

Medical Collections Coordinators work within our Finance Department to ensure prompt reimbursement for medical services provided through health insurance contracts. Collections Coordination requires a high level of communication between Director of Finance, Billing Specialist and Health Insurance vendors and consumers. We are currently seeking a part-time Claims Coordinator to join our team $14.00-$16.50Âper hour DOE.

Essential Duties Include The Following:

Assist Finance team by collecting on past due amounts and following up with consumers and health insurance vendors to ensure prompt payment for services.

Analyze and interpret medical claims data

Facilitate collections calls with health insurance partners, requesting reversal of underpaid and unpaid claims

Prepare written appeals to negotiate payment determinations made by health insurance partners

Establish individualized payment arrangements with patients of BCI

Maintain careful documentation of collections activities

Meet regularly with Companys Finance Department

The Collections Coordinator must be available for work during regular business hours, must be extremely detail oriented and comfortable negotiating payments via telephone.

Qualifications

Â

Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills and excellent customer service skills

Outstanding interpersonal skills needed to frequently interact with families, providers, and insurance representatives to address a variety of concerns and requests

General Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

General Knowledge of clinical documentation, preferably electronic health records/medical records systems

Complete Mandatory Training Requirements

Attend weekly and bimonthly departmental meetings and report on collections efforts

Attend workshops, trainings, and in-services as assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Education and/or Experience:

Medical collections experience

2 years of customer service experience
