Our company offers a unique suite of environmental, biological, and mapping services. We are based out of Durango, CO and are currently seeking a NEPA Specialist/Field Biologist with experience within the Four Corners region and that have worked on oil and gas projects particularly. This is a part-time position (20-30 hours) starting immediately, with potential to move into a full-time position. Pay depends upon experience.

Job Responsibilities:

· Provide management support; biological technical expertise; evaluation of natural resources studies; review of projects, and surveys for regulatory compliance; as well as general database, GIS, and editorial support.

· Take initiative and resolve issues to assure client needs are met effectively.

· Complete biological surveys for sensitive habitats and species, including general surveys for report writing, focused or protocol-level surveys, and pre-construction surveys.

· Preparation of reports related to NEPA compliance, particularly Environmental Assessments (EA)

· Collaborate with clients, staff, and regulatory agency staffs throughout planning and execution of natural resources studies.

· Provide recommendations for mitigation measures, monitoring.

· Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS units, and other maps and tools during fieldwork and report writing.

· Scheduling field surveys and organizing surveyors.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, biology or a related field.

· 3-5 years of experience preparing NEPA documents and conducting surveys within the Four Corners area.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· Experience with NEPA requirements and procedures from initial scoping and project planning to ROD/FONSI and conclusion, with little to no supervision.

· Experience working directly with agencies and clients with NEPA process, guidance and review.
