Job responsibilities subject to change based upon alignment of processes within developing organization.Primary responsibilities include:

Liaise with KPMG on leasing tool, identifying and resolving issues in a timely and accurate manner.

Coordinate with UT Realty and business units to ensure accurate reporting of financial statements.

Identify solutions within the tool and various business systems to create a more efficient and effective process

Coordinate with UTC and associated vendors to ensure lease information is obtained timely in order for accurate submission of lease information into the leasing tool.

Review and communicate changes for centrally managed leased assets.

Review applicable lease financial reporting disclosures for accuracy and completeness.

Manage collection effort of lease documentation for input into lease tool

Coordinate and review journal entries associated with lease accounting.

Manage assigned staff associated with lease accounting and related financial reporting.

Participate in process improvement activities related to all central accounting functions as required.

Contribute to CAS by bringing innovative solutions within the knowledge base and work of the department.

Support Collins, Pratt & Whitney and/or Corporate accounts regarding any questions or ad hoc requests as required.

Education / Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree required - Preferred fields of study include Accounting or Finance

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA preferred but not required

Basic Qualifications

You've obtained a Bachelor's Degree

8+ years of experience and progressive career growth in Accounting

You are a US Citizen or US person (green card holder)

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Finance or Accounting preferred

10+ years of experience and progressive career growth in Accounting

Expert leve use of Excel, generating pivot tables, V-lookups and using other advanced functions

Expert level understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Advanced user experience working with Microsoft Office applications, SAP and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), preferred

Quantitative analytical skills including ability to review and analyze financial reports

Additional Skills and Abilities

Ability to understand complex tax determination concepts and configure these in tax engines

Ability to research and to implement complex tax best practices in software implementation strategies

Ability to resolve complex technical issues, and recognize the need for and seeks out internal or external subject matter expertise

Advanced communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of Controller's Dept. and other UTC (Treasury) and Business Unit staff and management

Proven effective utilization of Six-Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) and a history of driving process improvements - Associate Certification desireable

You're a dynamic problem solver with strong accounting, analytical, decision-making and interpersonal skills with the ability to craft solutions to everyday challenges with creative new ideas

Self-starter with willingness to take initiative, support strategic priorities, take ownership of assigned projects/initiatives, contribute to results and be committed to meeting tight deadlines.

Position Responsibilities: Key Areas of Responsibility 1. Project Management a. Participates in PMO operations and manages medium to large sized projects of varying complexity. b. Partners with Executive Sponsor(s) to build a relationship that best manages expectations and supports project execution and implementation c. Schedules and conducts key project meetings for stakeholders, sponsors, teams, vendors, etc. d. Creates meeting materials (including agendas, presentations, meeting minutes and other project-supporting materials as required for the project team members) and tracks completion to ensure quality and integrity of deliverables. e. Follows ITS PMO methodology and utilizes documented standards, templates and tools. f. Ensures all projects in “Planning” have a minimum of Charter, Scope, Governance Chart, Stakeholder Register, draft schedule/timeline and prioritized RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies) ready for review as needed. g. Contributes to and assists in the design of efficient PMO procedures and policies. 2. Data Integrity, Documentation and Reporting a. Creates weekly reports for project team meetings in order to manage priorities, highlight risks/issues and share best practices. b. Creates and maintains project work plans, issue lists, decision lists, risk/issue registers and status reports. c. Provides managerial reports as needed, ensuring quality and integrity of data before publishing and socializing them including but not limited to a weekly personal status report and monthly project portfolio report. d. Manages project contracts and ensures that during its lifecycle the project adheres to contractual stipulations and/or makes recommendations where contract may need to be modified based on project changes. e.
