OverviewPeraton has an immediate opening for a Logistics Engineer to support our team at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. In this role, you’ll facilitate the provision of logistic support services by performing a variety of assignments related to the procurement, receipt, shipment, and disposition of materials, in a variety of areas such as inventory management, warehousing, material control, property management and transportation activities. Peraton is the prime contractor for NASA at the White Sands Complex (WSC) near Las Cruces, New Mexico. Operating here are two functionally identical satellite ground terminals: The White Sands Ground Terminal, and the Second TDRSS Ground Terminal. These ground terminals ensure uninterrupted communications between various ground stations, NASA’s orbiting fleet of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites (TDRS), customer spacecraft (satellites), and the computer systems that support such spacecraft. WSC serves as an interface for distributing satellite data to control centers and scientists who then use the daily influx of data to expand our ever-growing knowledge of the Earth and the universe.ResponsibilitiesWhat you’ll do…

Management of a variety of logistics functions i.e.; receipt, shipment, and disposition of materials, in a variety of areas such as inventory management, warehousing, material control, property management and transportation activities.

Act as lead or be required to supervise lower-level personnel

Perform evaluation of the design for life-cycle cost analysis, trade studies, sparing analysis, and break-even analysis in support of the Life-Cycle Cost reductions

Perform systems requirements development and allocation

Determine support requirements based upon Life Cycle Costs, reliability analysis and the relative supportability of alternative concepts

Apply fundamental logistics engineering concepts, practices, and procedures; performs government property administration and accounting duties requiring experience and knowledge in government property administration practices.

QualificationsYou’d be a great fit if you have…

A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related technical field.

3+ years of related experience, including experience in coordinating and directing the work of peers.

Prior experienced in the use of asset management database systems to include asset query report creation, historical records use in trending and metrics is required.

Demonstrated experience working with supply chain processes, enabling efficient logistics support of operational systems.

Prior experience in building productive working relationships with suppliers and demonstrated strong negotiation skills.

The ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

It’d be even better if you…

An active SECRET clearance or higher.

5 years of related experience, including experience in coordinating and directing the work of peers.

Prior experience supporting NASA or other government related contract.

Demonstrated experience successfully applying Reliability-Maintainability-Availability (RMA) standards, processes, and models to automated networks, telecommunications, or satellite communications systems supporting obsolescence mitigation strategies

Familiarity and use of hardware and software modeling tools such as Relex 09, Frestimate, and Telcordia SR-332

Detailed focus with ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks

Adaptability to changing requirements in a dynamic integration and test (I&T) and operations environment
