Overall Job Summary: The

Regional Head of Inventory Optimization for the Americas will be responsible for driving and follow up of the allocation strategy. Active focus on stock freshness and reduction strategies. This role is a key support for the Merchandising team to maximize the selling for the Americas Region.

The Regional Head of Inventory Optimization will contribute to maximizing profitable sales growth across markets by leading your team to optimize the inventory. This role is responsible for short-term operational functionality and long-term strategy and development within regional allocation, and inventory optimization, WH network (with logistics) and inventory flow forecasting.

Aside from being an integrated part of Merchandising team, the role will work closely with Regional Logistics, Global H&M support functions, Global Supply Chain Strategy & Design and Business Tech to enable a fast, flexible and effective supply chain in the region today and in the future.

This position is based in NY, NY within our Merchandising Function and reports to our Regional Head of Merchandising – Americas. This role will lead the Inventory Optimization team.

Core Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

Inventory Optimization:

  • Set strategies and ways of working for allocation and inventory optimization with Inventory Optimization managers and Logistics.
  • Follow up total supply chain performance with your team and Logistics
  • Balance service level, cost, selling and customer promise
  • Understand customer behavior impact on demand and supply actions accordingly

Logistics Cooperation:

Lead the Regional Merchandising team in the collaboration with Logistics. Drive the goal setting process and challenge our way of working to enable us to efficiently supply our customer demand.

  • Set the supply chain network agenda for Region together with Logistics and Global Supply Chain strategy and design
  • Be a driving force to unite Logistics and Regional Merchandising team way of working and goals to drive most profitable result for Region.
  • Plan, prioritize, execute, monitor and follow up common goals and results together
  • Secure collaboration around Inbound and outbound capacity planning and prioritization
  • Secure that ways of working and total information flow from commercial actions and inventory optimization are synched with Logistics
  • Identify potential to improve our commercial and logistical operations to increase outcome and efficiency

Supply Chain Development and Implementation:

  • Bring Regional findings to Global Supply Chain agenda and roll out new ways of working for new development initiatives in region
  • Bring specific supply chain needs to global teams and collaborate to set the best possible omni supply chain desired state for region together with Logistics
  • Be the region speaking partner with global teams to secure best possible future solutions in tech solutions, business logic, ways of working and plan for implementation of these

Lead your Team:

Lead, recruit & develop your team for the best possible setup here and now but also understand future needs for resources and competence as we develop our supply chain

  • Lead the Regional Inventory Optimization unit
  • Recruit best talents
  • Develop team
  • Proactively secure competence given development agenda

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Sales and Stock Management efficiency for all countries within Region America for all concepts

Qualifications

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with Finance, Business or Economics major, MBA highly desired
  • 5+ years of past retail experience, preferably in Retail Management or a Buyer/Product Manager role.
  • 3 – 5 years in a business analyst or finance role preferred
  • Logistics experience is very meriting
  • Previous experience managing a team and working cross functionally
  • Strong analytical skills and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with multi-functions and competencies
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Sales driven and results-oriented
  • Able to take complex theory and systems and translate to user knowledge
  • Ability to work at a high level with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to coach and train all levels of employees on subject expert knowledge
  • Ability to communicate and persuade business needs for supply chain
  • Strong brand ambassador
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide leadership through our shared values
  • Sales driven, Results oriented and sense of ownership
  • Required domestic and international travel at least 20% of time
