With minimal supervision the Shop Operations Manager is responsible for, supporting solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects, and shares the responsibility to provide Quality Assurance and process improvements to obtain optimum product reliability, safety, and effectiveness. Able to maintain records to be able to provide Cost-Analysis reports to Management on equipment.
Responsibilities:
Manages Shop Department to a safe, environmentally sound, and reliable operation;
Manages the execution of all routine maintenance activities in conjunction with other departments as needed;
Manages special projects using KC Light Towers, LLC craftsmen or a contract work force, including expense and
capital work;
Manages the resolution of maintenance reliability;
Fills in as needed for other staff positions; If you have an employee out, we expect you to fill in to help keep KC
Light Towers, LLC equipment rotating through shop in a timely manner;
May generate backlog, cost estimate, schedule and work scope reports;
May be responsible for shop department budget management;
Develops Department work force including training, job rotations, and special assignments;
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their
sole and complete discretion;
Perform other duties or assignments as assigned by supervisor;
May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
Responsible for the direct supervision of up to 15 employees.
Reports directly to General Manager.
Required Skills:
Advanced ability to lead and direct a large interdisciplinary work force;
Strong interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills;
Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication;
Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.
