Job Description
This position requires the vision and skills of an exceptional educator who can craft a curriculum for children ages 6-12. This position is ideal for the creative, innovative, knowledgeable, and hardworking teacher who is interested in pushing the boundaries of educational norms.
The successful candidate will understand the developmental needs of 6-12 year olds and combine knowledge of developmentally-appropriate best practices for elementary age students with humor, energy, and a desire to inspire students. The successful candidate will look beyond textbooks and other traditional modalities of education and utilize nature and the community to provide an inquisitive, skills-based classical education.
Additionally, he/she must be flexible and an excellent communicator.
About Our Cohort
Our family consists of 8 children ages 6-12 all of whom reside on a rural property in Santa Fe county, rich with diverse ecosystems to explore. Opportunities on the ranch allow for farming, beekeeping, chickens, larger animals, woodworking, welding, building, boating, fishing, swimming, cooking and playing. We also have a dedicated classroom space, separate from the individual homes on the property.
At the onset of the Corona Virus, we created a pod and have been very careful in our interactions with the outside world. We are desiring to maintain our pod while supporting our children in their learning.
