Early Childhood Family Specialist - for Home Visiting Program. Provide parenting support to families with expecting mothers and/or children from birth up to 5 years of age. Provide information through a research-based curriculum on child health and development milestones for families. Assist families in accessing appropriate community support/resources. Support a nurturing relationship between parents and children in their home environment emphasizing on health and education. Build trusting relationships with families. Listen, identify goals, observe and document observations. Maintain confidential record keeping and data entry. Conduct needs assessments; identify risks and make appropriate referrals. Follow up services received from referrals. Strict adherence to state standards. Adjust to in-house and state monitoring of work performed. Participate in weekly staff meetings and individual supervisions. Possess time management skills. Recruitment skills are required. DEGREE PREFERRED. This is a fulltime job once a case load is built.

On-going recruitment of participants into our home visiting program, targeting; Taos, Sandoval and Rio Arriba counties. Familiarity with the unique cultures of New Mexico and social agencies serving their communities. Must be able to extensively travel in the 5 NM counties that we serve: Primarily Toas and Rio Arriba County.

Primarily work M-F, 8 am-5 pm. However, must be willing to work some evenings and weekends. This is 40 hours/week full-time with some variance.

Attend required training events. Seek ongoing early childhood education and related professional development. Complete other duties and tasks assigned by program manager.

Job Requirements - Early Childhood certification preferred. Must be able to successfully pass a CYFD background check. Must have your own reliable transportation and proof of vehicle insurance. Possess excellent oral and written skills. Attend community outreach/networking events. Able to work with minimal supervision. Strong work ethic. Must be able to lift 8 pounds.

Certificate, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or related field preferred. Bilingual, fluency in Spanish and/or a Native American language commonly spoken in New Mexico is a plus. Indian preference given to American Indian and Alaskan Natives who are enrolled in a federally recognized tribe as defined by the Secretary of the Interior.

Early Child Hood or related field plus 2 years' experience -pay range $15.00 - 18.00
