Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher? Do you want to be part of a team of educators focused on inspiring and enriching young lives? Desert Montessori School is currently looking for a Lead Teacher in our Middle Elementary Classroom (3rd and 4th grade).
Located in beautiful Santa Fe, NM, Desert Montessori is a school any educator would be proud to be a part of. The ideal candidate will be a friendly, organized, motivated, flexible individual dedicated to creating a quality, personalized, upper elementary experience for students in 5th and 6th grade. Upper Elementary Lead Teacher/Guide is responsible for all aspects of classroom life including classroom organization, outdoor education, service project integration, lesson planning, record-keeping, progress reports, parent interactions and attendance at relevant school functions.
Applicants should have a Masters Degree, at least 2 years relevant teaching experience and strong interest in the Montessori philosophy and pedagogical style. Montessori certification is not required. Montessori trainings and PD will be provided here at the school. Candidate should be eager to learn and willing to participate professional development and training around the Montessori philosophy and approach.
Candidates should be creative, industrious and dedicated to creating and sustaining the highest-quality educational environment for each and every child. We believe in the power of student- teacher relationships so all of our classrooms have two full-time teachers (a lead and a assistant). Our student to teacher ratios are about 1:7, sometimes even smaller.
