The Mountain Center is looking for a special person who would like to be part of an innovative team offering a harm reduction model MAT program to the community in Espanola, NM. Our team includes an MD for medical treatment, and LPCC/LCSW for counseling, and a case manager for support and connection for additional services and a clinical director for oversight and coordination of services.

Our MAT program is a recent addition to the needle exchange program that has been helping to support and save lives in Rio Arriba county since 2005. For the right person, this work is exciting, meaningful, and community-driven.

Our ideal candidate is a person of integrity who desires to offer compassionate treatment to those who desire to improve their quality of life through suboxone treatment for opioid dependence. Our ideal candidate is someone with a perspective on harm reduction as a client-centered treatment. This position is 15-16 hours per week working 11:30-4:30 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Responsibilities:

Support the implementation with all team members to provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for TMC clients enrolled in the MAT program.

Work closely with TMC clinical, testing and harm reduction staff and make client referrals as needed.

Prepare and close down work stations before for the prescriber and help ensure workflow of services goes uninterrupted

Upload client information in EMR database and ensure information is ready for billing.

Attend TMC MAT team meetings.

Other duties performed: take vitals, administer CIWA and COWS, PMP, assess patients clinically within skillset, draw blood, administering injections, triage, write brief nurses notes, coordinate care, follow up with pharmacies and patients, conduct UA’s sanitizing patient area, checking clinic voicemail daily.

Qualifications:

State of New Mexico Certified license R.N. in good standing.

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

CPR/First Aid Certification

Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.

Three (3) years of related work experience.

Excellent time management skills as well as meeting deadlines

Excellent communication written, oral, electronically

Pass a CYFD and other criminal background checks

Knowledge of the following:

Overdose Prevention, Recognition and Response training

Addiction (Substance use and misuse)

Harm Reduction Models and Best Practices

Health Promotion and Prevention Education

Data collection, evaluation and reporting

Ability to maintain highly confidential information in a professional manner (in accordance with federal HIPAA and 42CFR part 2 regulations)

Possesses the mental resolve to deal with complex, highly emotional and/or stressful situations

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively listen and offer solutions without passing judgment

Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing

Ability to work with others in a team and collaboration efforts

Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Access and Excel

Working knowledge of standard office equipment (personal computer/laptop, phone with voicemail, fax, copier, etc.)

Familiarity with the social, cultural and economic make-up of New Mexico or service area and ability and willingness to work with diverse populations

Preferred:

Bilingual, English and Spanish

Experience working in addiction medicine

Employee must have the ability to clearly communicate in person and on the telephone in the decibel range of normal conversation levels. Employee must be able to hold a pen, type and grasp documents. The position requires the ability to safely lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Work Environment: Office environment and motor vehicle for out in the field for mobile HR services, requires physical acumen- lifting up to 50 lbs, walking for 4 hours a day, and being outside most of the day. Handling of biohazard materials.

Equipment Used: Personal computer and standard office equipment (phone with voicemail, fax, copier, scanner ten-key calculator).
