Website Designer Internship Opportunity

Vacancy expired!

Mil Abrazos is a nonprofit community land trust located in rural Northern New Mexico. We are an organization in development and three years into our creative process, we are ready to revamp our online presence, and redesign our existing website.

Skills Needed:

Looking for a Website Designer who is well versed in WordPress, with good Social Media skills. Experience in any of the following is a plus: branding, writing and editing, photography, filming and video editing.

Details:

Internship offers an amazing educational and skill building opportunity in beautiful surroundings, complete with delicious fresh food and good company (currently 3 residents and 3 very sweet and snuggly dogs!).

Our mission is to return farmland to the commons, to create a model for a living and working environment that can inspire the repopulation of farmland. To provide affordable home ownership, use regenerative practices for food production and wildlife habitat restoration, and develop a variety of cottage industries to comfortably sustain a multi-generational community.

You can learn more about our vision at -

Ideally we would prefer someone who is interested in living at our farm. However, living on site is not required and we encourage submissions from all who are interested! More important is an affinity for Permaculture, Social Justice, Regenerative Agriculture, Community Land Trusts, Land and Water Rights, and Northern New Mexico’s traditional and alternative cultures.

Duration:

1-2 months, with a possibility of extension

Compensation:

Position is unpaid, but with full room/board provided, should the candidate choose to live on site.

If the candidate is not interested or able to live on site, and would rather choose to work remotely, other non monetary compensation will be offered in trade (open for discussion upon inquiry).

If a candidate chooses to work remotely, please note that some amount of time will be required to spend with our working group and other interns at the farm in order to get familiarized with the project and its ramifications in the local area.

Time Commitment:

Living on site has a minimum requirement of 20hrs/week in exchange for room/board.

If a candidate is working remotely, we would discuss hours at the same time we discuss alternative compensation.

Location:

We are located in Dilia, which is 90 miles from Santa Fe, 30 miles south of Las Vegas, NM.

Accommodations:

Lodging is a small shared bunkhouse.

Excellent farm food is provided! (high quality, organic, often local, mostly vegetarian)

We have fast fiber optic Internet. If an intern decides to live on site they could work or study remotely.

Dogs/Cats: We already have three farm dogs and cannot accept more animals. If a qualified candidate has a dog or cat, an exception could be made if our dog pack accepts the newcomer. But the animal would have to stay with the other dogs in the dining hall-barn. No animals allowed in sleeping quarters.

Other Opportunities:

As an intern, you will be able to participate in all aspects of the farm activities, in addition to your web design and social media duties, should they be of interest to you. Such activities include but are not limited to construction, welding, vehicle and machinery repair, tree planting, compost making, plant propagation, gardening, yoga, ecstatic dance, medicinal herbs, wild crafting, circus arts and more.
