Program Coordinator:

Seeking an organized educational administrator/academician to oversee our ever-growing program of volunteer tutors and literacy students. This position is flexible, part time (24 hours per week), and occasionally includes weekend/evening hours. We are located in Española, New Mexico.

Duties:

>Communicate the details of our program to prospective students and tutors.

>Conduct student intake, and match tutors to students.

>Administer annual student assessments; perform routine check-ins with students and tutors.

>Maintain tutor, student and volunteer records, primarily through a comprehensive database.

>Supervise and maintain RAALP lending library and other tutor/student resources, developing new materials and overseeing check-out/returns.

>Perform office tasks including answering the phone, retrieving mail, safeguarding money, filing, and office correspondence.

>Assemble recruitment and orientation materials for outreach, recruitment, and orientation.

>Assist with the organizations events, from community outreach to fundraising.

>Organize quarterly tutor training sessions and continuing education workshops.

>Collaborate within a team that includes the Program Director, Office Assistant, and Board members.

Qualifications:

Must speak Spanish. Should have a background in education (teaching, instructional design, and/or administration). Proven ability to motivate and manage large teams, particularly of volunteers. Familiarity with the Española Valley and/or Rio Arriba County a plus. Proficient amongst an office setting, with computers, and in databases. Training and education in related fields a plus. Background check required.

The Rio Arriba Adult Literacy Program (RAALP) envisions a community where all adults have the literacy skills that enable them to achieve their personal and professional goals. RAALP's mission is to help community members transform their lives through enhanced literacy. RAALP provides free, one-to-one tutoring for adults reading at or below 6th grade level and English-as-a-Second-Language learners.
