Field Educator/Communications Associate (Santa Fe)

River Source seeks a watershed educator/communications associate to lead outdoor field trips and provide communication services starting in February 2020. Field trips will be primarily in the Santa Fe area with 5th grade students, though there will also be possibilities of leading middle and high school classes participating in River Sources Watershed Watch program. Another important aspect of the work involves creating social media content, writing and graphic design work for our clients, partners and teachers we work with, curriculum development, and assisting with grant writing/fundraising.

A bachelors or masters degree in natural resources/environmental science, watershed science or planning, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental or watershed science is required. Do not apply unless you have this kind of credential.

A flexible work schedule of 1-4 days per week is preferred with the workload increasing from 8-10 hours per week initially and to about 24-32 hours per week in March “ May 2020. The typical field trip length begins at 8:30am to about 2:30pm in the Santa Fe area. Other field trips may be 1-6 hours long, at locations around New Mexico, and ½ of the travel time is compensated at the full hourly rate.
