OUR PRODUCTS
OTR aggregates, compares and contrasts extensive marketplace data and prepares research reports for institutional investors (primarily mutual funds and hedge fund managers). Sources are interviewed via telephone, typically on a quarterly basis, which subsequently provides the basis for OTR reports. OTR's mission is to aggregate information from nontraditional sources, compare it with expectations and look for dislocations or inflection points that provide investment opportunities for our clients.
THE ROLE
The job of an OTR Global Research Associate is to gather unbiased information on companies and industries through telephone interviews with a variety of sources in numerous sectors, including Professional Contractor, Industrial Supply, Construction Rental Equipment, Auto Parts, Retail and Restaurants, and record the information cultivated from those source interactions into an online information system. $20/hour. 5-18 hours per week, 1-3 shifts per week for 5 or 6 hours per shift in our Santa Fe office. No benefits.
PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
ï Must be computer literate, know Microsoft Excel well. Be able to utilize and toggle between multiple windows at once and multi task.
ï Prior experience or solid understanding of Professional Contracting, Industrial Supply, Construction Rental Equipment, Auto Parts and Retail and/or Restaurant sectors a plus
ï The ability to maintain a positive attitude, self-motivated and confidence
ï Tenacious and resilient and able to handle rejection with cold calls
ï The ability to quickly assimilate information on new subjects
ï Intellectual curiosity and a passion for fact-finding
ï Excellent verbal communication skills, including good listening skills
ï Ability to work well within a team, but will also be a motivated, independent worker
ï Schedule flexibility; must be able to work M-F, 8-5 pm
