Title: UbiQD Internship
Positions: 1
Start date: Dec. 2nd, no later than Dec. 16th
Compensation: Hourly compensation, 40 hrs per week, 3-4 months
Company Summary: UbiQD, headquartered in Los Alamos, New Mexico, developed a luminescent greenhouse film technology called UbiGro that red-shifts the suns spectrum for improved yield, faster cycle time, and better crop quality. The company manufactures the enabling nanomaterials, called quantum dots (QDs), in-house in Los Alamos and has set up contract manufacturing of greenhouse film products. UbiQDs novel dots are known for their near-perfect ability to convert one color of light into another, which makes this a platform technology with applications beyond the first focus in agriculture.
About position: The intern will assist the agricultural sales team at UbiQD in discovering potential new greenhouse cultivation customers, interacting with greenhouse customers/distributors over email, the phone, and social media, and making sales of the UbiGro film product. This position involves interacting with potential customers, creating/maintaining a database of customers contacted and periodically presenting technical progress to the team. The intern may also travel to tradeshows/conferences to exhibit and interact with customers at the companys booth.
Job Requirements
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to collect and organize data and report the findings.
Ability to work well in a team and take direction from supervisors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
Residence in or re-location to Los Alamos, NM.
Ability to learn about UbiGro technology and explain it to potential customers.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with greenhouse and/or garden cultivation.
Experience with sales and/or marketing.
Experience exhibiting at trade-shows, or interactions with customers.
Possession of a valid US passport, to enable international travel to tradeshows
