Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, public health, a related social science, health administration, or related field and one year of experience providing direct patient/client services in a health, human service or community-based organization; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and three years of such experience; OR five years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. NYS requires new residents to obtain a license within 30 days of becoming a resident.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Public Health, Environmental Health or a related field. Project coordination or project assistance experience. Knowledge of environmental health and environmental exposure issues. Microsoft skills (Word, Access, Excel, Forms, Teams). Experience using SAS, R, ArcGIS, and/or MapInfo. Data management skills. Experience conducting telephone interviews. Phlebotomy experience or experience handling/processing biological samples.ResponsibilitiesThe Public Health Representative II will work in the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology, Community Environmental Health Surveillance Section. The incumbent will join a team of public health professionals to assist with planning and assist with performing an assessment of PFAS levels in communities with documented exposures. The incumbent will collect, assist with the analysis of, and assist with the interpretation of environmental health data. The incumbent will also collect information to help with the coordination of the biomonitoring project, assist with the development of project documents, assist to identify participant recruitment locations and associated timelines for recruitment, trouble shooting data collection issues, assist with tracking participant enrollment, engaging with project stakeholders and the public, and assist with planning public information dissemination activities. The incumbent will perform other appropriate related duties.This position is supported by the New York State Public Health Corps Fellowship Program.Successful completion of the Public Health Essentials certificate program will be required.This is a grant funded position, expected to last approximately one year.Travel, 25-50% of the time will be required.Employee BenefitsHealth Research, Inc.
