The Manager will determine the level based upon the selected applicant’s skillset relative to the qualifications listed for this position.The selected candidate for this position will report daily to one of the following offices: New York City, Albany, or Middletown, NY OR Wallingford, CT. This is not a work from home position.This position supports the Northeast Region National Accounts.Responsible for supporting the Account Executive or Account Executive Sr. in the large local group or national accounts market. May also support new sales team. Typical group size is 5,000 eligible or enrolled subscribers.Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Advise National Account clients on developing and designing specific benefit plans that will best suit the client's needs. Provides support to the Account Executive in the retention and servicing of National Accounts clients. May also support the new sales team. Day to day contact with client, acting as a liaison and client advocate within the various Anthem areas of responsibility. Responds to client or consultant inquiries in a timely and effective manner. Conducts open enrollment meetings with clients to promote and educate members about our products and services. Manages projects independently (i.e., migration, implementation) with little supervision or oversight required by the Account Executive. Directs and coordinates benefit design issues and modifications with Operations, Membership, and Implementation staff in support of client needs for new sales and renewals. Develops strategic relationships with existing/new clients, consultants as well as internal partners. Proactively partnering with internal contacts to facilitate timely resolution of issues or problems presented by customers and/or consultants. Demonstrates superior communication skillso Consistently produces clear, concise and professional emails/written documentso Listens carefully, delivers articulate responses, and follows up to ensure understanding by both internal and external parties.o Demonstrates clarity and diplomacy in challenging and highly complex communication situations Analyzes client needs and develops, designs and recommends or implements product improvements or additions to increase sales. Contributes to negotiations with the client and Underwriting. May act on behalf of the Account Executive to respond to client proposals and decision-makers during the negotiation and selection process. Assist in selling, promoting, and influencing clients to add additional products or services. Responsible for projects outside the department on matters of significance, with the authority to represent the department. A detail-orientated individual with strong analytic, organization and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving team environment. BA/BS and 3 years of related account mgmt. experience in National or Local/Large Employer Group (5000+) Medical insurance and benefits; or a combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
