Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for Software Analyst (LIMS) in Albany, NY.
Day to day tasks:
Work closely with the project manager and business unit manager to ensure timely deliverables.
Participate in status meetings and provide weekly reports to business unit.
Analyze, design, develop and document technical solutions utilizing Crystal Reports, SQL Developer and Oracle/SQL queries. This will include but not limited to design and creation of reports, data mapping documents and configuration changes to the current DNA Databank LIMS.
Create and develop statistical and management reports for the current DNA Databank LIMS.
Participate in business user and stakeholder meetings and perform interviews of business users for requirements gathering sessions.
Conduct gap analysis to explore current functionality and identify gaps between new or upgraded systems.
Work with end users to gather and review/analyze existing workflows, process flows, reports and documentation.
Analysis of what statistical and management reports will be needed, document the requirements and design the reports for new LIMS.
Analyze, compare, and provide recommendations for new LIMS based on vendor responses from request for proposal (RFP).
Participate in system testing, administration and configuration testing, functional testing, user role testing, UAT, and post implementation testing.
Execute system tests and record results using Quality Center of the new LIMS. This will also include recording and tracking of defects.
Interact with ITS staff, business users and stakeholders as necessary to determine and implement functional and technical requirements
Provide knowledge transfer to state staff in order to implement and support the current DNA Databank LIMS and new LIMS.
Mandatory Qualification:
36 months experience in studying and preparing software requirements and creating specification documents
36 months experience with Lab Information Management System (LIMS) or lab tracking software
36 months experience in computer programming and working knowledge of software technology
36 months experience working with software developers and conveying demands of software users to developers
36 Months experience analyzing business/laboratory workflows.
36 months experience with configuration changes to software and creating management reports
Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Natural Sciences, or related field.
