Production Manager of HVAC Equipment

The Production Manager will coordinate and direct all of the major production functions, maintain good employee relations, meet budgetary objectives, and ensure safe production of top-quality products.

Aero Conditioner Company, LLC is a growing manufacturer of industrial air-conditioners and related equipment that moved to a larger plant located in Selkirk, NY. We are looking for a Production Manager to lead our plant who has experience in plant operations and, ideally, in commercial and industrial refrigeration/air-conditioning service.

We design and manufacture air conditioners and other HVAC equipment used around the world, mostly in industrial and military applications. One of our key lines is our multi-patented Air Cleaning Blowers™ (ACBs), the most sustainable air-filtration system made because they blow and clean air without using any filter media that clogs and requires maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have HVAC technical experience and managerial experience, optimally in a manufacturing plant and be enthusiastically interested in taking initiative, welcoming challenges, and in growing personally.

Role:

Responsible for and empowered to oversee all manufacturing operations: Areas include Production and prototyping, Safety, Planning production and meeting deadlines, Quality assurance, Staffing and training, Maintenance, sharing Feedback with other departments, Shipping and Receiving, and Inventory. Support all strategic efforts to generate new sales, new and improved products, and support users of the products when technical support is needed.

Key Aspects of the Role

Supervise and control all production and shipping staff, which includes planning and assigning their activities, assuring that they are properly trained to do them, and enabling them to complete their tasks professionally—and then hold the people accountable for their work.

Actively work with production staff, engineering, and purchasing on process flows, optimization of plant layouts, coordination of timely deliveries, introductions of new products and product improvements, and equipment installations.

Oversee the preparation of operational schedules and manufacturing activities to ensure that production and quality of products meet specifications and are completed on-time.

Prepare and file all testing and production records in a timely manner, as required by the company and by outside certification bodies.

Work with Purchasing to manage performance and quality of suppliers and their products

Work with general manager and other managers to develop annual operating budget and to implement it, which includes analyzing daily/weekly/monthly spending in plant to keep indirect and fixed costs within standards and budget

Prepare and review detailed labor standards by cost center and by product with support and use of ERP program.

Actively work with the Human Resources Department in policy development, recruitment, employee grievances and other issues, employee development, separation, and employee motivation.

Work with Engineering and R&D departments to develop, improve and utilize production documentation; procedures; choices, purchases and uses of equipment; and the quality, marketability, and packaging of our products.

Assist in costing of new and existing products, and in costing, developing standards, analyzing of variances, and meeting budget requirements.

Support the R&D team and Marketing in developing new products and improving existing ones, including manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability, packaging, shipping and in the costing of labor, scrap, necessary equipment, and testing of products.

Lead and motivate by personal example.

Personal Qualifications:

Prior management experience, particularly production or HVAC project management, highly preferred

Good knowledge of HVAC equipment and operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

5+ years leadership experience required

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence across all levels of staff, customers, and suppliers

In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment

Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.

Ability to provide leadership, support, communication, and direction to your team.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.

Ability to coach, lead and develop employees.

Computer literate—competent in Office programs and able to learn and use company ERP and other software.

Must be a U.S. Citizen
