Position: Sales Associate

We believe that food, much like art, has the power to inspire and unite people. We aim to shed light on the Capital Districts rich agricultural past, by bringing together heirloom seeds sourced from around the world, sustainable growing practices, and thoughtfully curated goods. Located in the heart of Latham, NY, Forts Ferry Farm grows roughly 120 different varieties of heirloom produceÂthroughout the year. OurÂproduce is sold at our retail shop, farmersÂmarkets, and to restaurants throughout the Hudson Valley. Forts Ferry Farm is continually expanding and evolving in ways that foster the talents of our team, and the education of our community.
General Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of our Market Manager, sales associates are responsible for opening, setting-up, res-stocking, cleaning` and closing the market stand during days of operation. These individuals have strong interpersonal skills, and feel confident and comfortable interacting with customers, and speaking to the quality and characteristics of our products. Sales Associates are on their feet much of the work day replenishing stock and interacting with customers. These individuals are invested in sustainable agricultural practices, and generally have some knowledge of heirloom and organic vegetables and are interested in quality home goods/ handcrafted objects.
Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of retail environment.
Maintain accurate inventory of products/produce/baked goods, and inform supervisor when items are running low.
Properly taking care of guest transactions
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should have at least 1 year of retail and sales experience or equivalent. Experience in food service is also welcome. While we often work together, all applicants must have the ability to work and think independently and possess strong problem-solving skills.

-Possess ability to foresee high volume needs
