Javelin is a construction company seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Skilled Craftsman. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, from supporting renovation projects with carpentry (framing, cabinets, trim), sheetrock, taping, mudding, tile work and flooring. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, variety in tasks, and being part of a growing construction-focused team.
Responsibilities
Carpentry: Construct and install framing, cabinetry, shelving, and trim. Measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately. Install moldings, door/window casings, and stair components. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Deliver high-quality finish carpentry and precise craftsmanship
Sheetrock Installation: Measure, cut, and install drywall on walls and ceilings. Fasten sheets securely and ensure proper alignment. Prepare surfaces for taping and finishing
Taping & Mudding: Apply tape and joint compound to seams and fasteners. Sand and finish surfaces to paint-ready condition. Repair drywall imperfections and ensure smooth finishes
Tile Work: Prep and level surfaces for tile installation. Cut, lay, and install tile with proper spacing and alignment. Apply thin-set, grout, and sealant. Clean and finish surfaces.
Flooring Installation: Install hardwood, laminate, LVP/LVT, and tile flooring. Prep subfloors and cut/fit materials precisely. Install underlayment, trim, and transitions; repair flooring as needed
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with ability to tow trailers.
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks.
Ability to lift, move, and operate equipment as required.
Prior carpentry and sheetrock experience required and tiling and flooring experience preferred.
