We are a leading supplier of interior and exterior lighting products for commercial aircraft, regional and business jets, military aircraft and helicopters. Aircraft manufacturers and operators benefit from obtaining their entire lighting system from one single source. This position is for an Electrical Engineering Intern with a passion to learn about, and gain experience in the Electronics and Aviation industry. This role is onsite, in Bohemia, New York.What You Will Do:

Support the Development and modifications of electronic schematics, circuit boards, and electronic system designs for both new and legacy products while ensuring the designs meet or exceed functional objectives, are efficient, cost effective, and meet quality standards within the lighting organization

Analyzes and evaluate new or improved electronic components, circuits designs. Assess components ensuring proper ratings and key parameters meet requirements, sustainment and obsolescence support

Interfaces with engineers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders in support of tasks assigned participating in technical preparations for product development, product improvements, and testing implementation to ensure products meet specifications. While Developing test procedures, designs verification plans, and reports, to support product qualification for applicable aircraft standards.

Troubleshoots electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved correctly and efficiently. Support troubleshooting of development, production, and aftermarket products. Which consist of designing products which incorporate AC-DC and/or DC-DC power generation/regulation, data transmission and distribution, control logic utilizing, CMOS, microprocessor, FPGA, ASIC, or similar software integrated systems with emphasis on power generation for LED applications, system level wiring, and servomechanisms. Tasks will utilize and expand your knowledge of circuit theory, system logic design and development, instrumentation, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, LEDs, and display techniques with emphasis on design to support product primarily for military and/or commercial aircraft applications.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Prior Electrical/Mechanical technician experience, internships, or relative school projects is a plus.

Experience or desire to progress in LED lighting techniques/LED power regulation.
