Req Number 002SO3Job DescriptionPerforms a variety of reception and registration duties supporting patient access to department services.Responsibilities Include:
Greets incoming patients, family members, and visitors. Provides pertinent information.
Collects, verifies and records demographic, insurance and referral information and enters data into department computer system.
Obtains required referrals and/or authorizations, as needed.
Collects, records and receipts outstanding money.
Prepares patient charts. Maintains and files medical records.
Answers, screens and routes telephone calls. Takes and delivers messages.
Scheduling patient appointments (consultations, follow-up, testing, etc).
Performs various receptionist duties and maintains reception area. Addresses and routes mail, deliveries and other items, as required.
Responds to and resolves patient questions and issues, as needed. Informs management of complex registration issues, as needed.
Collects and distributes needed information, records and reports, as required.
Performs related duties, as required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Prior customer service experience, required. Patient relations experience, preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively.
