Etsy Security seeks a senior security analyst to join the team. This person is responsible for monitoring the fleet and network for security issues, developing new cyber safety measures to protect the adapting workforce to being distributed (no central network), installing and operate software that protects systems and infrastructure, incident response including investigation and reporting, and working closely with adjacent Security Engineering teams to develop the analyst program growth, direction setting, and initiative identification.

This is a full-time role located in Brooklyn, NY, and open to remote candidates.

You are a strong communicator. This role requires you to work closely with engineers, non-technical colleagues, executives, and vendors. You are able to adjust your language, approach, and tone based on your audience and you can respond nimbly to the needs that any given situation calls for.
You are creative. This is a relatively new team within an established company. We aim to grow our program, expand our influence, and make Etsy data, employees, systems, and infrastructure safer and stronger. We seek to bring someone in who will present new, feasible ideas and solutions to improve our security posture.
Technical skills: Networking, scripting, hacking, OS confidence (Mac, Linux, and Windows), security alert design, SIEM experience
Desire and ability to work in a collaborative context across many teams
Ability to think about threat and risk in the context of an organization’s business goals
Background in cyber security/ security engineering/ information security (2 years of experience)
Red team/ Blue team experience
Cloud experience a strong plus
CS degree & certifications are welcome, but not required
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
