Front End Web Developer (Frameworks) Salary: up to $80,000 Commensurate with Experience Excellent Benefits Brooklyn, NY
This position aligns with the City’s strategy to create equitable access to information and services. The Front End Web Developer (Frameworks)will leverage DoITT’s expertise in project methodology, implementation best practices and development standards to deliver high-quality solutions that meet agency business needs.
Job Description:
Build and maintain websites in HTML, CSS and JavaScript;
Maintain, assess, and create Web sites using frameworks (such React and Angular) for NYC.gov;
Ensure websites and applications meet web accessibility standards;
Implement front-end presentations for enterprise applications;
Work with back-end application developers and information architects to develop and implement JavaScript for in-house developed enterprise applications;
Build agency-specific iterations of enterprise applications;
Build and maintain pages for NYC.gov portal and CityShare intranet portal;
Build and maintain dynamic forms development and implementation, AJAX/JSON development and implementation;
Handle special projects and initiatives as required.
Preferred skills:
HTML/HTML5/DHTML/XHTML;
CSS;
CSS Frameworks (such as Bootstrap), React, Angular;
Responsive web design;
JavaScript;
JavaScript Frameworks (such as JQuery), AJAX, JSON, XML, RSS;
Web Accessibility Standards (Section 508);
Development for major browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari);
Photoshop and Dreamweaver (or their equivalent).
Qualification Requirements: A bachelors degree in computer science or related field and 4 years experience related to the above -or- An associate’s degree in computer science or related field and 6 years experience related to the area(s) above -or- A bachelor’s degree in other areas and 8 years experience related to the area(s) above -or- Education and/or experience equivalent.
