Wine Sales Associate

Description:
Premier Wine & Spirits is looking for highly motivated, professional individuals with superior wine knowledge to join our retail wine specialist team. This is a full-time position with a great opportunity to learn more about the wine and spirits industry.
Wine Associate:
Our Wine associates have the pleasure of working with our guests and ensuring they have a memorable experience, encouraging product sales and repeat business. They are also responsible for ensuring our stores are organized, clean and well-stocked so that guests enjoy every visit. Strong candidates will have an understanding of the fine wine market (wines/regions/varietals/prices) and ability to provide a high level of detailed service to a demanding customer base. This includes a well-rounded knowledge of fine wines, customer relationship building, technology and sales writing. They will be organized, able to multitask, self-motivated and a strong written communicator.
Responsibilities Include:
Greet guests as they enter the store and provide friendly, prompt, engaging and courteous service
Learn about wine, spirits and our “Premier Select” products
Assist in daily maintenance of cleanliness
Shipping of Wine Products
Responsible for opening and closing duties for the store
Ensure company standards are met for store and associate appearance
Act as a liaison between customers and management
Keep up to date with knowledge on all wine pricing, signage, product updates and displays
Assist with wine pricing, signage, and special projects as needed
Minimum Requirements:
Strong knowledge and background in wine and spirits
Minimum of two years’ recent experience working in a role relating to customer service and sales
Must have ability to work independently as well as on a team
Must be able to multi-task helping customers in person as well as answering phones and emails while assisting with other day to day tasks
Able to engage and communicate with customers in a prompt and professional manner
Must be dependable, have excellent communication and organizational skills
Additional Requirements:
Attend meetings, training and tastings as needed and scheduled
Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time and lifting loads up to 35 pounds.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Ability to communicate clearly through verbal and written exchange, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required
Proficiency in MS Office and an ability to quickly learn new technology/software is a plus
