Daycare/Preschool Childcare Lead Teacher - 68 State St., Liberty, NY

We are currently hiring for Lead Teachers for our Toddler and Preschool classrooms at our Early Learning Center in Liberty, NY.

Location: 68 State Street, Liberty, NY

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr

Hours: Part Time

JOB CONSISTS OF:

Developing weekly plans, and implements age appropriate lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care.

Create positive adult/child interactions using the CLASS method.

Assures the education, health, welfare and safety of the children enrolled in their classroom and the center as a whole using ECERS/ITERS.

Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents/ caregivers via Brightwheel App, email and in-person meetings.

Perform on‐going developmental evaluations of children and plan periodical parent conferences to discuss children's developmental progress, needs and interests.

Assist families with children's transitions from toddler to preschool and from preschool to kindergarten.

Maintain accurate, complete and timely family and agency records; including daily meal and attendance records.

Ensures that the Childcare Assistant is kept updated in all matters concerning the classroom and program, i.e. meetings, lesson plans, policies & procedures, training received.

Provides functional training and guidance to staff, interns, substitutes and volunteers assigned to the classroom.

Participate in on‐going in‐service and educational development opportunities provided by Healthy Kids.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree in Child Development, Child Development Certificate, Bachelor's Degree and or equivalent degree OR

Infant and Toddler Child Care and Education Credential or other Office-recognized credential specific to infant/toddler developmental period (with 2 yrs of experience ) OR

Child Development Credential (with 2 yrs experience) OR

9 Credits in Early Childhood or a related field with a plan of study leading to Associates or other Office recognized credential (with 2 years of experience)

QUALIFICATIONS:

18 years or older High Diploma or equivalent

Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting, references, SEL & SCR through NYS Office of Children and Family Services.

Must be medically fit to perform all job duties, free of communicable disease including TB and provide documentation from a licensed physician within the past year.

Warm, friendly, caring, upbeat personality. Exceptional people skills in dealing with young children, parents and staff. Professional, reliable and prompt.

Must have the stamina and physical flexibility (walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, pulling, running, reaching, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.) without assistance to participate in children’s activities.
