Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Manager assures consistent quality of production & systems by developing and enforcing good automated manufacturing practice (GAMP) systems; validating processes; providing documentation; managing direct reporting staff.

Senior Quality Assurance Manager Job Duties

Hold overall accountability for test strategies, planning, execution, and provisioning of Quality Programs and Systems in the Bray family of Companies in Canada

Contributes to development and implementation of QA systems and associated reporting metrics Establishes and drives strategic and tactical QA initiatives and plans

Drive the implementation of the QA programs within Canada and assists with the overall QA process improvement within all Bray Canadian Operations

Implement and maintain an operating model for continuous improvement and integration of quality management across the business

Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.

Establishes raw material standards in conjunction with Engineering by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures.

Manage quality processes using a structured risk management approach.

Track, report, benchmark and trend data; conduct root cause and other analysis, utilizing results to reduce incidents; establish standard uniform metrics and communicate results to the General Manager.

Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Provide leadership to ensure that Quality audits are conducted, and any corrective actions are effectively closed.

Establishes quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance Manual & Procedures as needed.

Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government & jurisdictional requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.

Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

Maintains quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

Maintains quality assurance staff results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; determining system improvements & opportunity for continuous improvement; implementing change.

Ensuring the effectiveness of the established Quality Systems in all Canadian Operations.

Participate in Management Reviews at least annually, semi-annually is recommended

Senior Quality Assurance Manager Skills and Qualifications

People Management, Analyzing Information, Reporting Research Results, Technical Understanding, Promoting Process Improvement, Developing Standards, Managing Processes, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Dealing with Complexity, Problem Solving, Process Improvement

Demonstrated ability in applying a high level of critical and creative thinking when bringing alternative solutions to complex problems not covered by existed procedures and practices.

Education & Experience

Technical Diploma or Engineering Degree or 15 years work experience in Management position demonstrating skills and duties required above supplemented with certificates and training courses.

Knowledge and training in ISO9000, Nuclear Standards, CSA N285.0, CSA Z299, ASME codes, PED.

Lead Auditor certification.

ASME N/NPT implementation and program maintenance experience is an asset.
