Maintains sufficient inventories at workstations.Job ResponsibilityAssists Registered Pharmacist in the non-professional (non-judgmental) aspects of preparing and dispensing medication.Fills, packages, labels and stocks unit dose cart from patient profile card or computerized pick list; brings cart to nursing unit according to predetermined schedule. Makes other deliveries, as required.Fills bottles or other package forms with measured amount of medication either manually or mechanically.Labels containers of drugs according to department specification, either manually or mechanically.Assists in clean air room, using sterile technique in filling and labeling injectable prescriptions.Assists in preparation of IV additives.Fills medication orders in inpatient area.Provides extemporaneous medication packaging, as required.Assists Registered Pharmacist in maintaining a variety of records and reports.Maintains IV records with Pharmacist direction.Maintains records for medication in inpatient area.Maintains records of extemporaneous prepared medications.Assists in the maintenance of statistics and records for all medication orders.Enters orders into computer terminal.Verifies and initials records including, but not limited to medication labels, fill (pick) lists, repackaging logs, refrigeration logs, crash cart logs, floor-stock lists, eye wash station, delivery invoices, IV Room cleaning logs, and Automated Dispensing System (ADS) refill delivery logs.Maintains sufficient inventory at workstations in Pharmacy.Transports required pharmacy material, as necessary.Receives and maintains records of stock and inventory control.Removes outdated medication and segregates according to regulation.Restocks medications returned from patient care areas.Assists in material control by maintaining records and inventories.Maintains placement of sufficient daily inventory of supplies to all areas of Pharmacy to assure efficient operating conditions.Maintains Automated Dispensing System (ADS).Refills ADS located in patient care areas based on refill/delivery logs.Recover failed drawers.Resolves non-controlled drug discrepancies.Maintains in-date medication inventory within ADS.Performs related duties, as required.Job QualificationHigh School Diploma or equivalent, required.Graduate of a recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program, OR Equivalent hospital pharmacy experience, required.Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), required.Current license as a registered pharmacy technician in NYS, required when hired on/after 4/25/21.Two (2) years experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital pharmacy with a computerized system, preferred.Must possess a valid driver's license, where applicable.Ability to learn computerized hospital pharmacy system.Additional Salary DetailThe salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).The salary range for this position is $29.33-$31.47/hourIt is Northwell Health’s policy to provide equal employment opportunity and treat all applicants and employees equally regardless of their age, race, creed/religion, color, national origin, immigration status or citizenship status, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, sex/gender, gender identity, gender expression, disability, pregnancy, genetic information or genetic predisposition or carrier status, marital or familial status, partnership status, victim of domestic violence, sexual or other reproductive health decisions, or other characteristics protected by applicable law.
