Junior Reports Developer/Data Analyst
Location: Garden City, NY
Duration: long term contract + conversion permanent
Key Skills: SQL, queries, data extraction, data validation, Excel, ERP experience is a plus
ERP Applications:
Strong knowledge and extensive experience with large scale ERP applications including Payroll/HR and Accounting - Financials Software applications
Ability to learn and review delivered application functionality and underlying development tools and utilities
Ability to assess and analyst delivered application functionality in comparison with end user requirements and business processes
Act as a liaison with end users in defining and clarifying functional requirements and in conveying specifications to developers
Automate business processes utilizing various software tools
Query / Report Development & Data Review:
Ability to define, design and develop various reports across several development environments
Ability to convert, integrate and manipulate data across various applications
Ability to define and develop application test scenarios and to compare data discrepancies on a mass basis
Ability to develop complex queries
Ability to understand application data in conjunction with and the underlying data record structures
Ability to test and validate query/report data for accuracy and record integrity
Develop and/or modify programs typically related to database updates, records modifications, processing of data and reporting
Project Management:
Ability to develop detailed project plans and manage project and team
Perform various aspect of application upgrades including but not limited to project planning, fit-gap analysis, defining customization specs, end-user training, application and interface testing and report development
Miscellaneous:
Develop documentation
Plans and provide end-user training
Security implementation
Work with third party interfaces and software. Includes creation of interface files and processing/scheduling automation
Skills:
Must have strong analytics skills
Strong knowledge of relational databases and proficient in SQL development
Proficient in MS Office Excel and Access. Knowledge of MS Access and adept at working with of Numeric, Character, Date, and Logical Functions is a plus
Knowledge of structured programming is a plus
Experience with government accounting is a plus
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems/Information Technology/Computer Science with a minimum of two semesters of Accounting principles OR
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Accounting with coursework in Computer Programming, Management Information Systems and Relational Databases
