Req Number 139343Job Description:Coordinate patient surgery according to assigned surgeon's schedule and location. Organize and complete patient information for billing and documentation purposes.Job Responsibility:
Coordinate surgical procedures for two (2) to three (3) physicians.
Print patient demographics and clinical information relevant to procedure(s) being performed
Review and verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage to determine appropriate location for procedures and any out-of-pocket patient responsibility due to applicable co-pay or deductible.
Complete appropriate insurance authorizations/verifications including appeals to various insurance companies to ensure payment
Always adhere to HIPAA Guidelines, at all times.
Secure all required medical clearances and fax or e-mail to surgical center prior to scheduled surgery date.
Obtain information and ask open-ended questions to obtain results.
Supply clinical notes and documentation as needed to secure pre-authorization for surgery.
Schedule surgery with hospital or ambulatory surgery center (ASC).
Communicate details of surgery with patient verbally and in writing.
Assemble pre-surgical patient packet and mail to patient.
Coordinate all required pre-surgical testing (PST), diagnostic testing (CT/MRI/X-Ray) is scheduled and communicated to the patient.
Coordinate (schedule) post-operative appointment with patient within appropriate timeframe.
Complete all required forms and requested required by surgery center.
Fax or e-mail required booking forms to appropriate surgery center.
Job Qualification:
Minimum high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Minimum two years' experience as a surgical coordinator/practice scheduling associate, preferred
Additional Details:
Ability to work an 8.5 hour shift within the operating hours of 8AM - 8PM, weekends may be necessary, 1-2 closing shifts, flexibility preferred.
