Promoting the quality of nursing practice and patient care in ostomy, wound and continence management for both inpatients and outpatients at Glens Falls Hospital.

Assessing patient and staff education needs for the care of the patient with an ostomy, continence and/or special wound care needs.

Coordinating and developing programs to meet these needs both in the hospital and the community.

Assists nursing staff with prevention and treatment of pressure injuries and wounds.

Assists in managing complex wounds, including treatment plans that include wound vac therapy.

Responsible for pressure injury surveillance and NDNQI reporting.

Qualifications

Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in NY state

Bachelor of Science in Nursing required

Clinical experience; acute care experience preferred

Certification as a Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse preferred and required within 1 year of hire.
