Job
The housekeeper and dishwasher will assist in housekeeping and dishwashing responsibilities for the retreat center. This includes three meals per day, Thursday through Sunday. Most food will be vegetarian. He or she will work closely with the Chef and Hospitality Director to maintain dining rooms, common spaces, kitchen, and dishwashing station. This includes washing pots, pans, and dinnerware during food preparation periods. As a member of a dynamic team, he or she will assist in creating an enthusiastic learning environment to support the companys mission and organizational health. The schedule will largely be Thursday through Sunday, 32 to 40 hour weeks.
Responsibilities
The essential responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
Manage cleanliness and organization of common rooms, dining rooms, and two kitchens and walk-in coolers.
Light laundry duties
Maintenance of dining room table
Assisting with breakfast and lunch set-up and breakdown
Oversee dishwashing responsibilities
Qualifications
Preferred, at least 1 year of relevant work experience but we are willing to train for an enthusiastic candidate
Self-starter and motivated
Willing to manage multiple tasks
Willingness to be apart of a small, dynamic team of farmers, housekeepers, and chefs.
Passion for good food.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment use and safety.
Cooperative, service-oriented attitude and ability to work independently and take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion.
Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship development skills.
Compensation and Application
Compensation is commensurate with experience. This position will begin as a full-time, hourly position beginning between $15/hr for 32 to 40 hours per week. A drivers license, car, and cell phone are required for this job.
