We are looking for a part-time House Manager for a 7-acre, 6-building property built in 1860 directly on the Hudson River in Malden. We are a young couple who live and work in Manhattan and will be using the house on weekends and for longer stays over holidays.
We are open to a variety of ways of working for the right candidate -- from part-time to hourly to contract. You can have another job, be in school, etc.
Our ideal candidate:
- loves the Hudson Valley (as we do!)
- has experience with the inner workings of a large property
- has experience with light repairs and gardening
- lives close by and has a car/truck
- is very familiar with surrounding towns (Kingston, Saugerties, Hudson, Tivoli)
- is very familiar with local produce (markets, farmstands)
- is trustworthy, kind, and loves hospitality
Responsibilities include:
- Keep the property in good working and welcoming order
- Light cleaning and gardening; manage housekeeping and gardening
- Get groceries and supplies as needed
- Do light repairs and home maintenance as needed
- Supervise landscaping and construction projects
- Help make our guests feel welcome
