We are seeking a year-round homeschool teacher to 2-3 hours a day or more and teach a gifted six year old at a family's home in Ithaca NY. The location is close to Tompkins County Hospital.
The tutor should have some teaching experience, but we will provide curriculum and support. The most important is a loving, bright personality and eagerness to learn.
We will be using the Blossom and Root homeschool curriculum as the primary curriculum, though the tutor is more than welcome to develop their own projects and bring ideas.
The teacher should embrace a philosophy of student-directed, inquiry-based learning and chid-centered communication. The curriculum is project-based and includes exploration of nature. So the tutor should be active and comfortable taking the child outdoors.

Times:
Times: The times are flexible, but we'd like someone who could come 2-3 hours a day, potentially Monday-Friday from 9-11 or 9-12pm. However, We could work with your schedule
This position is ideal for a student teacher, substitute teacher, retired teacher or tutor.
