Sunbeam Candles, producer of high-quality hand-crafted candles, green business, and a certified living-wage employer in Tompkins County, is seeking an articulate, vibrant and dedicated individual to join our team as Customer Service/Office Administrator. This is a permanent, full-time position ideally beginning the first week of June 2019.
The Customer Service/Office Administrator is responsible for processing all incoming orders via phone, email, fax, and online (our website and Amazon); fielding current and prospective customer inquiries; maintaining various databases and spreadsheets; performing daily opening and closing office tasks; and other administrative duties. We pride ourselves in very positive and personal relationships with our customers, and this is primarily maintained through the significant phone and email correspondence in this position. Your days will be full yet fun - you won't be bored at Sunbeam!
Requirements include excellent written and verbal communication skills, careful attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and prioritize, reliability and a positive attitude. Experience with Quickbooks, ACT, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite are all a big plus, but training available. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Sunbeam Candles is a green business that has continued to grow over the past 15 years. Training is in-depth and many of our employees have been with us for years. While a vehicle and/or driver's license is not necessary, reliable transportation to our shop, about 4 miles west of Ithaca on Route 79, is a must.
