Creative Constructions needs another team member! (Read this post and reply by email if you are interested)
Creative Constructions is a well established team of 9 skilled guys (ages 24 to 64) creating interesting and energy efficient homes, in and around the Town of Ithaca-
These days we complete 3-4 houses a year.
We are currently booked nearly 2 years out.
To help keep up with our work load, we are looking to add one full- or near full time person who has 4 or more years experience in residential building.
The ideal candidate would be hard working, a good communicator, easy going, committed to doing good work and have a naturally helpful and positive attitude.
Having daily access to email and texting is required, along with having your own basic tools, and transportation, owning a truck would be a bonus.
We do numerous phases on each of our projects ourselvesbut certain work like; concrete/foundations, plumbing/heating, drywall and roofing, are always left to our trusted subs.
We typically have 3-4 homes going at once so bouncing back and forth from framing to trim & finish work and siding with the seasons and sometimes even in a span of a week or month is not uncommon.
Although we all have our specialties (& preferences) on the job, team mates are encouraged to participate in everything from framing to trim as well as helping create custom built-ins, air sealing and some insulation work, along with applying finishes etc.
We think participating in a variety of work and problem solving opportunities helps keep the job interesting and makes a better home.
Work hours are typically 9 to 5, often 8 -4 the summer. We build year round.
The hottest and coldest days we typically take off from work.
The work environment is enjoyable and supportive. We are flexible in accommodating needed time off etc.
We’re all left leaning politically, we have fun at work, and we work as a team.
Our clients are most always very nice and love what we build for them. Word of mouth keeps us busy.
Our clients typically have a sweet building lot somewhere out in the country around Ithaca (not more than 20 min from down town) and a dream to build a unique energy efficient home.
Pay is commensurate with skills/experience and what you can bring to the team… for this position pay
range between $22- $30 depending on the person.
Year end bonus are earned, paid lunch break and other small perks can be expected.
