W Services Group, a leading North American Facilities Management Organization is seeking a Sales Tax Specialist to join its growing team. The Sales Tax Specialist position creates an environment of support and culture for the accounting department as well as employees, contract partners and clients. Must be able to work in a faced-paced, team-oriented environment and handle multiple projects at the same time.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Accurately prepare and timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/use tax returns for US and Canada
· Renews and files annual city and county business licenses/reports
· Ensure Company is registered/compliant in all jurisdictions
· Research and register any non-compliant jurisdictions as needed
· Renew/file for Merchant Certificates
· Issue resale certificates as requested
· Research and update all sales tax rate changes accordingly
· Assist with Company’s annual audits including any sales/use tax audits
· Prepare annual sales tax reconciliation for outside tax accountants
· Assist Financial Analyst with expense report processing and reconciliation
· Renew/file for Merchant Certificates
· Special Projects as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in preparing sales tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
· QuickBooks experience a plus
· Proficient in MS Word / Excel – Intermediate to advance skills such as Vlook-up, Pivot tables, and other advanced Excel functions.
· Knowledgeable of sales/use tax laws and regulations with the ability to research specific tax issues.
· Strong work ethic and attention to detail is required
· Ability to work under pressure, handle varying workloads and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
· Administrative duties – filing, photocopying, scanning, emailing
· Ability to prioritize workload to allow for the expedited processing / follow-up on rush items
· Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable individual
· Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative
· Strong work ethic and attention to detail is required
· Accept additional responsibilities or projects as needed
· Provide assistance to others within & outside department as necessary due to business needs.
· Administrative duties – filing, photocopying, scanning, emailing
· Construction experience a plus
