FULL TIME DAY CARE ASSISTANT FOR A GROUP FAMILY DAY CARE HOME
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be available MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY from 8:00 AM TO 6:30 PM
2. Must have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood and/or two years minimum experience caring for children.
3. Must have had a recent physical examination or be willing to obtain a physical examination with a signed statement acknowledging that you are in good health and able to work with children.
4. Must have a valid driver's license and own car to travel to work. We are not located near public transportation.
5. Must have three verifiable references including at least one employment reference.
6. Must complete a State Central Register (SCR) Clearance form and obtain fingerprints for state clearance.
7. Must be willing to complete 15 hours of NYS required training within the first six months of employment including First Aid and CPR certification.
We are looking for an extremely energetic person that loves children and works well with others.
We are a NYS Licensed group family day care/pre-k home that cares for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers ages 6 weeks through 6 years.
We follow a daily schedule which includes language arts, math, science, circle time, story time, arts & crafts, music and exercise, educational games and activities and much more.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a high energy person that truly enjoys the company of infants and young children and understands and appreciates their differences and behaviors
Must be creative, able to organize activities and lessons, and able to bring new, fun ideas to the program
Must have leadership abilities which enable you to control and maintain order in the day care in order to ensure the safety and well being of the children
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Providing a structured and stimulating learning and playing environment for children ages 6 weeks - 6 years
Attending to the physical and emotional needs of the children in your care
Guiding the children through art activities, math, science, language arts, circle time, outdoor play, meal time, and other various educational activities
Maintaining a clean environment for the children in your care ( e.g. cleaning and disinfecting tables and chairs, toys, bathroom, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, putting away toys, etc.)
Working well under pressure
Assisting older children with homework
Assisting day care provider with activities as well as initiating developmentally appropriate activities with groups of children
Attending to the personal care of infants and young children (e.g. diaper changing, meal and snack preparation, emotional support, etc.
Must be energetic, outgoing, and extremely reliable
MUST love children and have an unlimited amount of patience
