Several Direct Support Staff needed to work one-to-one with well-mannered Intellectual/Developmentally Disabled Adults who live in various towns in Nassau County.
Looking for reliable, caring, compassionate and mature staff who are sincerely interested in improving the lives of the population we serve.
Requirements:
Good listening skills and attentive
Kind and Patient - must take pleasure in work with Special Needs Population.
HS Diploma
Valid Driver's License - clean driving record with access to a vehicle
Must pass agency background check
Hours revolve around participant's schedule: i.e. 9 am - 3pm or 3pm to 9pm plus weekends
Duties:
Assist with planning community activities
Travel into the community i.e. gym, shopping, classes, appointments and recreational activities.
Household Chores - Laundry, make bed, grocery shopping & kitchen clean up, etc.
Meal Prep - errands
Assist with Technology - iPod, iPad, Smart Phone, Computer, etc.
Assist with money skills
$20 per hour plus mileage reimbursement when driving with the individual
Part time or can combine hours with several individuals to become full time
Various towns in Nassau
