A NYC government agency located in Long Island City, NY is looking for a Business System Analyst for a 6 month contract.

Requirements and skills
The candidate will require a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Strong experience in working with MS Office and Visio tools are required.
The candidate must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Extensive experience with analyzing and documenting data structures, data mappings, and data consistency, and data traceability from front end through back end
Proficiency querying databases, Structured Query Language (SQL), ETL procedures
Expertise in software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
Expertise in test design and engineering (in multiple programming languages)
Expertise in test-plan documentation and execution
Solid understanding of best practices such as TDD, BDD, CI/CD
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills: Excel, Work
Knowledge of Microsoft Teams a plus
Excellent Visio skills

Responsibilities
Document As-Is and To-Be database designs
Conduct data gap analysis and downstream impacts to help define scope for technical development tasks
Collaborate with Program, Data and IT colleagues, and attend/lead relevant inter-Agency meetings
Perform Data Analysis and provide reporting support
Contribute to test strategies that verify data coverage and consistency for migrated data and data structures
Create and Document meaningful and maintainable test plans, cases, scripts
Provide estimates on testing efforts to the QA Director and/or Product and Technology team members
Script, run, monitor, and analyze performance/load tests to identify throughput bottlenecks
The candidate must be able to review, analyze and evaluate external and agency database designs, data mappings, databases, business systems, and user needs.
Must be able to identify and document data mappings, data gap analysis, and systems impacts to align the solutions with the overall business strategies.
The person selected will work under the project Technical Lead and Project Manager to document database structures, data mappings, trace UI fields to database fields, and perform Quality Assurance testing to verify successful data mappings and transformations.
