Youngs Farm is seeking a full-time baker. We are a 129-year-old certified organic family farm, bakery, and market located in northern Nassau County. We are a high-volume, production bakery that specializes in high-quality, classic baked goods.
Our ideal candidate is versatile, proactive, and organized and has at least two years of professional baking experience.
We expect the candidate to bring energy and enthusiasm to work. Cleanliness and being conscious of your workspace and the workspaces of those around you are also critical skills. Typical hours are 5:30am to 2:30pm five days per week. Weekends and holidays availability is important also.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Mixing doughs and making cookies from scratch (including macaroons, rugelach, brownies, and quick breads)
Rolling and fluting pie crust and making fruit filling
Assisting with icing cakes and cupcakes
Working as a team with other bakery staff who share kitchen space to accomplish the daily production list
Communicating and engaging with management to make improvements when deemed necessary
Being eager to learn, create and update recipes, and grow the business with us
